Do you currently have Bell's Palsy?
Did you experience any common "warning signs" before it set on?
I had a horrible headache for 3 days, well I thought it was a headache. Turns out it was pain in the cranial nerve.
How long have you had Bell's and what percent recovered are you? It's been about 2 weeks. No real recovery yet.
What treatment, if any, did you undergo/are undergoing? Acyclovir, steriods (annoyingly I wasn't given them immediately). The original doctor just handed me a sheet saying the name of the disease and the anti-virals. I'm also taking sublingual B-12 and other vitamins. I'm doing phsyical therapy, acupuncture, and skull realignment with a chriopractor.
How did treatment affect your condition? I think it's too soon to tell if any of it is working.
Did Bell's turn out to be a symptom of another condition? No. I've never even had a cold sore.
How has Bell's Palsy affected you physically in the short- and long-term? It's making me hate my life, which is sad because I've always been content with my life.
How has Bell's Palsy affected you emotionally? Yea.
How were you treated by family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers once your appearance changed? Although I'm getting really sick of people telling me its going to be ok etc etc people in general have been pretty nice about, my family especially.
I have a question. On a lot of sites they talk about recovery percentages. It seems like most people get up to 99% back... but what does that really mean? Like if you're 99% what's still not working for you?
